15 April, 2018 - Wrentham sisters visit en route to conference
Three sisters from Mount Saint Mary's Abbey in Wrentham, Mass. spent a few days at the monastery recently. Mother Maureen, abbess, novice director Sr. Bonitas and vocation director Sr. Katy were on their way to a conference at nearby St. Meinrad Archabbey.
The three of them joined the monks in the liturgy during their stay and spoke to the community during the Sunday Chapter meeting on April 15.
During the meeting, they shared the blessings and challenges they have experienced in their multigenerational and multicultural community. Currently their sisters range in age from 25 to 90 and hail from all parts of the United States and beyond. One fourth of the community originates from countries outside the US.
In addition, the visitors gave updates on some of their abbey's environmentally-friendly energy initiatives.
After the Noon meal, the sisters continued on their way to the conference in Indiana. It was a pleasure to have them with us. We hope they had a fruitful conference and a pleasant journey home.
