15 August, 2014 - Br. Jacob Grisley enters Gethsemani

Br. Jacob Grisley officially entered the Abbey of Gethsemani on the Feast of the Assumption, 15 Aug, 2014.

He was given the habit of the Order to wear.

Since Br. Jacob is a monk of another order, he will be discerning his vocation with Gethsemani for a three-year period, the first year of which he will spend in the novitiate.




Br. Jacob is from the Benedictine Abbey of St. Meinrad in Indiana.  He entered St. Meinrad in 1972, so has been in monastic life for 42 years.

He has been a frequent visitor to Gethsemani for many years, since his work on the formation team of St. Meinrad.
