From Friday the 2nd of September through Sunday the 4th, a number of men interested in the monastic life joined us for a "Come and See" experience.

They are given the opportunity through the weekend to see how monks live from the inside. They join us in choir, are given a tour of the monastery and the workplaces, and join us for our regular Chapter meeting on Sunday morning.

One of the highlights of the weekend is a meeting with the novices of the community on Saturday afternoon at the hermitage which was built for Fr. Louis, Thomas Merton. Fr. Michael, the former novice director and current undermaster, was also there as was Br. Lawrence, the novice master.

The visitors asked questions of the novices about their experience living at the abbey. Everyone, guests and monks, shared how they had heard of the Abbey and their spiritual journey thus far. The discussion was lively, the weather lovely and the snacks, arranged by Fr. Anton, the vocations director, much appreciated.
