Each year, on the Monday of the Labour Day weekend, the community uses its Vespers service as a procession to bless the workplaces.

We began with a psalm in the shipping department, and processed over to the Farms Building, chanting the liturgy of the saints along the way.

Work is an extremely important part of Cistercian life. The Rule of Benedict says that, "When they live by the labour of their hands, as our fathers and the apostles did, then they are really monks." (48:8)

Our work not only supports our life here, but provides an opportunity for us to share in God's ongoing work of creation.
