On Mondays and Fridays, rooms for new arrivals are available in the Retreat
House after 11:00 a.m., in the monastery wing after 1:00 p.m.
Guests are asked to check in before 6:30 p.m.
When retreatants depart on Mondays or Fridays, rooms must be vacated by 8:00
a.m., but it is acceptable to vacate the room and then use the common rooms for
several hours thereafter.
Offerings to the abbey are on a free-will basis, according to means. These
contributions are essential for operating the retreat house.
Guests must be at least eighteen years of age.
(Note: Guests may be sixteen or older if accompanied by a parent.)
Meals are prepared by the monks and served to both the monastic community and the
retreatants. While the monks do not eat meat, it is served to the guests several
times per week. The kitchen cannot provide meals for those requiring special diets.
Retreatants may bring along snack foods and beverages.
Pets cannot be kept in the retreat house.
The nearest airport is Louisville International, fifty miles north of the abbey.
Retreatants arriving by plane, bus or train in Louisville must arrange their own
transportation to the abbey.
The nearest sizable town is Bardstown, Kentucky, approximately twelve miles
north of the abbey. Directions, maps and approximate driving distances from
