Gethsemani’s monks and employees got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on March 3. The onsite vaccination clinic occurred nearly a year after the abbey had to close its doors because of the coronavirus pandemic. A second, final dose is to be administered in three weeks.
The monastery remains closed to the public and the community continues to take all the same precautions. Still, the vaccinations are an encouraging step forward. We will continue to update monks.org as the situation progresses.
