December 28, 2025 - Br. Godric takes his solemn vows

Br. Godric Hathorn made his final vows on Sunday the 28th of December, the feast of the Holy Family.

Br. Godric vowed obedience, stability, and what we call conversatio morum, a conversion of life which implies poverty and chastity. These are permanent vows and bind him to the community of Gethsemani for the rest of his life.

We are grateful for Br. Godric’s witness to the monastic tradition through his service to the monastery over the past 6 years and his continued commitment to Gethsemani. May he grow and flourish in the coming years.
