On May 17, the Sixth Sunday of Easter, Br. Matthias renewed his vows for an additional year. Thus, he continues as a junior monk of the community.

After the six-month postulancy, and two years in the novitiate, monks and nuns of the Order become juniors through temporary vows. By temporary vows, brothers undertake the obligations proper to monastic life either for a period of three years, or for three periods of one year.

The abbot may prolong this time, but not beyond a further six years.

Please pray for Br. Matthias and all of our Order’s monks and nuns in formation.
