There’s a new face in choir. Br. Joël Chetcuti, OCSO, arrived on Dec. 2.

Born in Paris, Br. Joël entered Sept-Fons Abbey in France in 2009. He made solemn vows in 2016, but is discerning if God might be calling him to transfer to Gethsemani.

According to the Constitutions of the Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance, a solemnly professed brother must spend at least one year in a new community before requesting to change stability. The abbots of both the original and new monasteries must both consent and the conventual chapter must approve the transfer with a two-thirds majority.

Please join us in welcoming and praying for our confrere during this time of discernment.
