Abadía Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles in Argentina recently had its biennial visitation. Located about a four-hour drive through the pampa from Buenos Aires, the abbey is referred to commonly as Azul, the name of a nearby town.
Azul is a daughterhouse of Spencer Abbey in Massachusetts, but Gethsemani’s abbot Dom Elias accompanied Spencer’s abbot Dom Damian Carr (see last photo for Dom Damian (left) and Dom Santiago Maria Rios of Azul) for the visit.
On Sunday, Jan. 12, the morning after his return, Fr. Elias shared some photos and highlights of the trip with the brothers in Chapter.
Thank you to the monks of Azul for the fine hospitality they showed our abbot, and also for the photos, which we are pleased to share with visitors to our site.
